Our Mission, our Vision and Core values

Our Mission
Youth Action for Haiti enables children, young people, and women in Pignon, Haiti to flourish by providing access to education and economic empowerment opportunities.
Our Vision
Guided by the teachings of Christ, we envision thriving Haitian communities where psychologically and socially marginalized children, young people, and women are empowered to live flourishing, self-sufficient lives, and lead as spiritually-mature followers of Jesus.
Core Values
We are committed to pursuing our mission through these principles:
- Integrity for Christ and the ministry
- Caring for children, young people, and women
- Commitment to Christ
- Stewardship to create lasting change with Christ’s Love
Our Story
Youth Action for Haiti was born from a simple belief: that every child in Haiti deserves the chance to grow, lead, and follow Jesus.
A Vision Born from Struggle
Our founder, Appolon Élysée Paul, grew up amidst the political turmoil of Haiti. Those early hardships didn’t break his spirit—they fueled a deep passion for advocacy. Witnessing the devastating impact of gang violence and economic collapse, Appolon and his family chose to stay and serve, focusing on those most at risk of abuse and poverty.
From Local Hope to National Impact
What began as a small, grassroots effort in the Maliarette neighborhood of Pignon has grown into a lifeline for the community. We don’t just provide temporary aid; we equip vulnerable youth with:
- Quality Education: The foundation for all future success.
- Spiritual Maturity: Guidance to become leaders like Christ.
- Self-Sufficiency: The tools to transform their own families and nation.
“Nothing can overcome perseverance and faith in the service of truth.”
